WWW.COM –JUST THINK ABOUT IT!
Warning!
This two-part column is not for everyone. If you are in charge of your
life and you are not a committed Christian, stop reading and go watch
TV or play with your computer. This is a hardcore, down the pipe, in
your face column especially for born again believers. If you are not
such a person and you keep reading, you do so at your own risk.
I want to share a few thoughts on the subject of winning the war
against worry. Sooner or later, if not continually, worry comes
knocking on everybody’s door. Some people get up immediately and swing
the door wide open with an in vitiation for worry to walk in, have a
seat and stay awhile. Others have learned how to send worry away
without even going to the door. Which one are you?
Worry is a war. It is a battle of the mind. Worry is a solider from the
enemy’s camp sent to destroy the peace and productivity our Creator
intends for us to enjoy. Every time worry is allowed into our lives, we
get ripped off of the Lord’s blessing.
Every one of us has a list of things that has the potential of causing
us great worry. We could worry about our finances, health,
relationships, death and dying, yesterday, today, tomorrow... etc. The
list is worrisomely long!
It
is time for every Christian to wage war on worry. By a "Christian”, I
mean a person who has repented of a lifestyle lived for self outside of
God’s direction and a person who has given Christ full authority and
lordship of their life. If you have not done this, this column is not
for you. Stop reading! I warned you that this was hardcore Christianity.
For
the Christian reading this, I want to preface what I am about to say by
declaring something you already know. I do not have all the answers to
all of life’s questions. I am not even clever enough to have all of
life’s questions – much less the answers.. However, I see myself simply
as one beggar showing another beggar where to find bread.
OK! So, what do I mean by the title WWW.COM? WWW is an acronym for Winning Worry’s War.
We can win the war over worry. We do not have to be prisoners of war
held captive behind the barbed wire of worry and fear. Worry and fear
are two sides of the same coin.. We can be set free and liberated to
enjoy life the way God intended life to be lived.
Jesus
said, "Let not your heart be troubled”. Again He said, "Be anxious for
nothing”. Again, He wrote, "He has not given you the spirit of fear.” I
think you get the drift of this.
So,
if WWW is an acronym for Winning Worry’s War, what does COM mean? I’m
so glad you asked. Find out by reading next week’s column. But again
I’m warning you, it is only for hardcore Christians. The rest of you
won’t like it but, if you choose to do so – you can Just Think about It!
